New regional portal at www.brusels.irisnet.be

The new portal of the Brussels-Capital Region went online on 24 February. The occasion was marked by a press conference by Brigitte Grouwels, the regional minister responsible for IT.
The portal has proven to be an important provider of information for citizens, businesses and tourists alike, registering over two million unique visitors in 2010. It also helps promote and establish the image of the Region. The strengths of the new Brussels-Capital Region portal (www.brussels.irisnet.be) are use of the new Plone content management system, turbo-charged interactivity, more convenient access to information and integration of social media. The portal is available in three languages, including English. A mobile version is in development.
